The Undermountain Saga (The Complete Boxed Set)
Perfect for fans of YA adventure and science fiction. A group of teens embarks on a backpacking adventure, each wanting an escape from real life, each for a different reason. For Danny it’s his mother’s domineering boyfriend; for cheerful Breyona, it’s a suppressed memory; for Shiv it’s a tragedy he keeps secret; for Wa it’s a chance to meet girls.
They have no idea that their hiking trip will take them farther from home than anyone has ever gone before!
The complete Undermountain Saga in one boxed edition includes all three books of the saga!
A hiking trip in the Canadian Rockies turns into the adventure of a lifetime when Danny, Breyona, Wa, and friends learn the truth about Bigfoot.
The adventure continues as Danny comes face to face with the ancient Egyptian queen, Nefertiti and learns the shocking origin of the bigfeet.
In the stunning conclusion, Danny must race to stop the vile GorVit from using the starkiller weapon to destroy all life on earth.
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I was driving along one day, thinking about bigfoot. I don’t know why! Maybe someone had mentioned it on the radio. Anyway, I was thinking about why this huge creature would be so difficult to find, and a crazy answer popped into my head. What if bigfoot is part of a super advanced race of beings that is just way smarter than us. I followed that tiny seed of an idea literally down a hole and found the world of Undermountain.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I wanted to write something that I would have loved when I was a teenager. Truth is, that’s still my favorite kind of story. So I knew I’d have a cast of teens from diverse backgrounds. I had to do a lot of experimentation, but it always came back to one idea. All these teens have troubles at home; the just want to get away for a while and have an adventure on a hiking trip. The irony is they spend the rest of their time trying to get home
I’ve always been drawn to stories of wondrous hidden worlds connected to our mundane one. Whether it was stepping through the wardrobe to visit Narnia, boarding a train on platform 9¾, or falling down the rabbit hole, there was always a big adventure waiting on the “other side.”
The Undermountain Saga follows in that great tradition, and I hope your discoveries there fill you with the same sense of wonder.
